Joining Motorola in 1976, a successful American electronics and telecommunications company, Ralf started his professional career at the age of only 19 in Frankfurt. After moving to Munich, Germany, he was given responsibilities in various Marketing & Sales positions where he was in charge of large accounts like Siemens and Grundig, Distribution, and Affiliated Partners with an annual sales of 20 million Euro.
In 1985 he left Motorola to join Kramer Westfield, a British Consulting Firm specialising in Executive Search. Starting as a consultant he was in charge of the electronics and Microsystems division and clients like Thomson, Analog Devices, and Compaq. In 1987 he became Director of the Germany operation and Shareholder of the holding company based in London. In July 1988 Ralf founded his own company Hartmann & Lotz Unternehmensberatung GmbH in Munich to offer executive search and management services to start-up companies in the electronics and computing markets.
In February 1990 Ralf founded his first PR agency in Munich, Hartmann & Lotz Public Relations. With the intention to go international he setup offices in England 1992, France 1994, and USA 1996. In 1996 Ralf founded GlobalCom PR-Network and changed the name of existing Hartmann & Lotz PR operations. In 1998 Ralf decided to focus on PR & Marketing only. Following his idea to build a world-wide network of PR agencies he sold his shares in foreign operations in the UK, US, and France (2002) and non PR related activities.
In 2004 and after a world-wide economic crisis Ralf re-launched his initiative to build a global Pr organisation. In 2006 he co-founded GlobalCom PR-Network NV in Brussels, Belgium as a legal structure to a world-wide network of independent PR agencies.
