(Portorož, Slovenia) One of the most important conclusions of the fifth International Conference on Communication Practice Portorož 2007 is that the development of new media brings, as well as to the profession as to its practitioners, a lot of challenges and at the same time a lot of opportunities to broaden the area of work and new ways to efficiently achieve the goals set. That was also the spirit of the “Golden Loaf” Award Ceremony for special contributions to the development of communication market and public relations profession. London School of Public Relations (LSPR) and Slovene Chamber of Public Relations (ZOJS) gave the awards for the second time. This year’s winners are Michel Ogrizek from France, Ante Gavranović from Croatia and Public Information Office – Office of Prime Minister in Kosovo.

Media is a powerful tool, no matter who uses it – managers, NGOs, interested individuals or terrorists.«
At the conference, organized by LSPR and ZOJS, gathered about 140 professionals and practitioners from the field of public relations, communication and media profession. 21 speakers from Great Britain, United States, France, Germany, Serbia, and Slovenia unveiled their thinking about new perspectives of working with media and showed some of the best practices from this area.
