Business Objectives-Centred Communication Main Topic of the Conference
13 expert lectures, a roundtable discussion and variegated entertainment activities in the framework of the International Conference on Communication Practice Portorož 2006
International Conference on Communication Practice Portorož 2006, which took place at the Grand Hotel Metropol Congress Centre in Portorož yesterday and today, ended with presentation of the most successful communication projects by five Slovenian PR agencies, members of the Slovene PR Agencies Association (ZOJS). Imelda Ogilvy, Studio 3S, Studio Kernel, Informa Echo, and SPEM Communication Group presented their practical cases of business objectives-centred communication. »Business-centred communication« was the main topic of the conference, on which participants could receive knowledge and share experience with a number of renowned foreign and domestic experts such as Simon Quarendon, Secretary General of the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO); Volker Weber, PR advisor and lecturer at the Deuscher Academie für Public Relations; Marko Kryžanowski, CEO of Petrol; Ross Bethell, founder of Bethell Associates, a London-based strategic communication consultancy; Žiga Debeljak, CEO of Mercator Group; and others.
This year’s conference, participated by some 120 partakers from the Central and SE Europe, was organised by the London School of Public Relations (LSPR) and the Slovene PR Agencies Association (ZOJS). Taking place beside 13 expert meetings was also a round table discussion entitled “Business objectives-centred communication”, led by Božidar Novak, Director of SPEM Communication Group and Chairman of the Slovene PR Agencies Association (ZOJS). Panellists, who included Sandi Uranc, Peter Vadosz, Volker Weber, Marko Kryžanowski, as well as Mojmir Ocvirk, Regional Director of Development and Partner at Imelda Ogilvy, debated upon synergies and conflicts in cooperation between managers and communicators.
International Golden Loaf Awards were presented in the framework of the conference to five individuals and organisations whose contribution to the development of the communication market has been exceptional, for their commitment to work and contribution to a higher quality of work on the field of communication and PR.
